Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers

Office Hours.................................................................10a.m.-5p.m. Monday-Friday

TAHV are 20 members strong and are constantly working and striving to raise money to assist MCHD in any needs that might arise that the auxiliary can accommodate. They have many dedicated persons volunteering their time and energy. Anyone interested in joining the non-profit organization may contact the hospital auxiliary at 728-3431, extension 7131. The club is open to male or female volunteers because all help is appreciated! They are an asset in the Mitchell County Hospital District located in Colorado City, Texas.

Please check out the auxiliary in the hospital lobby (located on the North side of the building and facing Interstate 20) for special affordable gifts. There are unique western, chef, frogs, crystal gifts, and a vast assortment of other fine gifts available in their shop. Their gifts are reasonably priced and new items are added often. If you see something you like in the gift shop, you better purchase it, because it might not be there when you come back later.

The ladies auxiliary has taken on a new task for the hospital district. They now man a waiting room and information desk for the hospital. The new office is located at the end of the ER hallway and right before you get to the LAB on the other hallway. A patient needing lab or radiology, will go through admissions as usual and then proceed down the hall to the information desk. The ladies will taken their information and ask that they have a seat in the waiting room where they can enjoy reading or watching a nice flat screen television until someone comes and gets them for their procedure. The flat screen television is a gift from the auxiliary for viewing pleasure of the waiting room. The waiting room is also available for persons having surgery in the hospital. Family members can wait in the room and when there is information regarding a family member, someone in the surgery staff will inform you of the patient's condition.
