Job Title:  NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR

Department:  MITCHELL COUNTY NURSING AND REHABILITATION CENTER

Reports To:  CEO

FLSA Status: EXEMPT 

Position Summary:  Direct day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities to assure the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.  Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines established by the governing board. Oversee the program or organization’s budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related subject is required
  • Current Texas Nursing Facility Administrator License required
  • 2+ years’ experience in administrator role preferred   

Duties, Responsibilities, and Skills:

  1. Evaluate the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
  2. Recruit, interview, and hire or sign up volunteers and staff.
  3. Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and organizations in community to meet community needs and to ensure that services are not duplicated.
  4. Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by boards of directors or senior management.
  5. Plan and administer budgets for programs, equipment, and support services.
  6. Participate in the determination of organizational policies regarding such issues as participant eligibility, program requirements, and program benefits.
  7. Prepare and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, or training manuals.
  8. Research and analyze member or community needs to determine program directions and goals.
  9. Act as consultants to agency staff and other community programs regarding the interpretation of program-related federal, state, and county regulations and policies.

Other Significant Requirements:

  1. Maintain HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  2. Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Mitchell County Hospital District.
  3. Advise others on legal or regulatory compliance matters.
  4. Analyze impact of legal or regulatory changes.
  5. Analyze market research data.
  6. Develop operating strategies, plans, or procedures.
  7. Direct administrative or support services.
  8. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
